HDPE butt tee is made of opaque white waxy material, with a specific gravity of 0.941 ~ 0.960, which is lighter than water. It is soft and tough, but slightly harder than LDPE, slightly elongated, non-toxic and tasteless. The tee made of this material is flammable and can continue to burn after leaving the fire. The upper end of the flame is yellow and the lower end is blue. It will melt when burning, with liquid dripping and no black smoke. At the same time, it will emit the smell of paraffin burning. HDPE butt joint tee is acid and alkali resistant, organic solvent resistant, excellent electrical insulation, and can maintain certain toughness at low temperature. The surface hardness, tensile strength, rigidity and other mechanical strength are higher than LDPE, close to PP, toughness than PP, but the surface finish is not as good as PP.

HDPE butt tee has poor mechanical properties, poor air permeability, easy deformation, easy aging, easy brittleness, lower brittleness than PP, easy stress cracking, low surface hardness and easy scratch. It is difficult to print. When printing, it needs surface discharge treatment. It can't be electroplated, and the surface has no luster. HDPE is usually used for urban water supply. HDPE tee has comprehensive advantages of safety, sanitation and convenient construction, and has become an ideal pipe for urban water supply. It can also be used in natural gas and gas pipeline.
