Tee is a pipe connector, which is used at the branch pipe of the main pipe. Tee is a kind of chemical pipe fitting with three ports, i.e. one inlet and two outlets, or two inlets and one outlet. There are T-shaped and Y-shaped tees, equal diameter orifices and reducer orifices, which are used for the confluence of three identical or different pipelines. The main function of tee is to change the direction of fluid. According to the pipe diameter, the nozzle ends of equal diameter tees are the same size; the main nozzle sizes of reducing tees are the same, while the branch nozzle sizes are smaller than the main nozzle sizes. Butt welded tee is a steel elbow formed by hot pressing or forging. Its connection form is to directly butt weld the tee and steel pipe. The main manufacturing standards of butt welded tee are generally GB / t12459, GB / T13401, ASME b16.9, sh3408, sh3409, Hg / t21635, Hg / t21631, SY / t0510. There are two production processes for butt welded tee of carbon steel: hydraulic bulging and hot pressing.

The process is to use a special hydraulic press to extrude the tube blank. After the tube blank is extruded, the volume becomes smaller, and the liquid in the tube blank increases with the volume of the tube blank. The metal material flows along the inner cavity of the die under the double effects of the liquid pressure in the side cylinder and the tube blank, and the branch pipe expands. The hydraulic bulging technology of the tee can be formed in one time with high production efficiency; the wall thickness of the main pipe and shoulder of the tee is increased. Hot pressing of tee is to flatten the tube blank larger than the tee diameter to the size of tee diameter. After heating, the tube blank is compressed radially under the action of pressure. In the process of radial compression, the metal flows to the branch pipe and forms the branch pipe under the stretch of die. It is called radial compensation process. Due to the use of pressing tee after heating, the tonnage of equipment required for material forming is reduced, and the adaptability of hot pressing tee to materials is wide.
