The pipe cap is a pipe fitting welded on the pipe end or installed on the external thread of the pipe end to cap the pipe, which is used to seal the pipe, with the same function as the pipe plug. The form of the pipe cap is similar to that of the blind plate, except that the blind plate can be removed for sealing, while the welded pipe cap cannot be removed.
The pipe cap includes convex pipe cap, cone shell, variable diameter section, flat cover and shrink mouth design. The difference between the pipe cap and the head is that the pipe cap is generally used in the case of low pressure, which is convenient for disassembly and maintenance. The pipe cap is generally not used in the case of medium and high pressure. The inner diameter of the head shall prevail. The diameter of the head is very large.
There is no requirement for the transition part of the pipe cap.In general, only the diameter and length can be found in the manual, and the straight side part is relatively long.Hot press forming process of carbon steel pipe cap: firstly, put the blank into the heating furnace, the heating speed above 400 ℃ is ≤ 200 ℃ / h, heat to the temperature required by the technology, and conduct heat preservation. Then put the heated blank into the adding mold, so that the blank and the mold are concentric in the circumferential direction. Start the hydraulic system to ensure the pressure is greater than 8Mpa.

1. Heat treatment: put the pipe cap into the furnace for heat treatment according to the heat treatment process.
2. Surface treatment: after heat treatment, the pipe cap shall be removed with sand blasting machine or polishing machine.
3. Mechanical property test: according to relevant standards, conduct mechanical property test on the pipe cap to ensure that the mechanical property of the pipe cap reaches the standard, and the test items and sampling shall meet the requirements of relevant standards.
4. End machining: machining groove of mechanical end face according to design confirmation drawing.
5. Appearance inspection: the pipe cap shall be free of cracks, overburning, overheating and other phenomena, and the surface shall be free of hard spots. Any defect on the pipe body of the pipe cap shall not be repaired by welding.
6. Dimension inspection: relevant inspection personnel shall carry out dimension inspection according to drawings and relevant standard requirements of pipe fittings, and meet the tolerance requirements.
7. The inner and outer surfaces of the pipe cap shall be smooth without any damage to the strength and appearance defects, such as scabs, scratches, double skin, etc., and shall be grinded after finding the defects.
8. The grinded parts shall be smooth and the defects shall be confirmed to be removed by magnetic particle inspection.
9. Non destructive testing: after heat treatment of pipe cap, personnel with relevant qualification certificate of the company shall carry out magnetic particle or penetration test on the pipe cap according to the standard requirements, and the test result is qualified.
10. Pickling and passivation treatment: stainless steel pipe fittings shall be pickling and passivation treatment.
