Reducer, also known as reducer, is one of the chemical pipe fittings, which is used for the connection of two different pipe diameters.According to different types, it can be divided into concentric reducer and eccentric reducer.When the flow rate of the fluid in the pipeline changes, such as increasing or decreasing, and the flow rate requirement changes little, reducer shall be used.
At the inlet of the pump, in order to prevent cavitation, a reducer is needed.In order to cooperate with the joint of instrument, such as flowmeter and regulating valve, reducer shall also be used.
HDPE butt reducer is an accessory used for connecting two pipes of different diameters. One side of the shape is large mouth and the other side is small mouth.Different material pipes are equipped with different material reducers, which is convenient for the connection of pipes.

There are three ways to connect HDPE butt reducers: One is butt welding connection. The pipe diameter is the same as the pipe diameter to be installed. The installation personnel use the hot-melt machine to directly butt weld after heating, which is firm and durable.
The other is socket connection, i.e. the sleeve is welded on both ends of the pipe fitting. When installing, the pipe is directly inserted into the pipe fitting and sealed with welding rod. This installation method is convenient and quick.
The other is the flange reducer, that is, the two ends of the pipe are welded with the neck flange, and the installation personnel can directly fasten it with the screw mouth during installation. The pressure of this installation method is enough, fast and easy to disassemble, but the cost is increased.
The inner wall of HDPE butt reducer is smooth and does not change with the use time, so the friction resistance is small and energy is saved.The pressure loss is about 30% smaller than the steel pipe, and the diameter smaller than the steel pipe can be selected.
Good hygienic performance, no additives, no possibility of contaminating drinking water, ISO standard grade polyethylene material is the lowest, no mildew material.Compared with other commonly used plastic materials, polyethylene has much higher resistance to mildew, and does not accumulate scale in long-term use.
HDPE butt reducer installation uses socket welding to form a completely closed seepage control system.It has good flexibility, small pipes can be wound, pipes can wind along the ditch, can resist geological changes in the stratum, and can be used as liner to repair old pipelines.
