In a piping system, an elbow is a fitting that changes the direction of a pipe run. According to the angle, there are three kinds of most commonly used: 45 ° and 90 ° 180 °. The extension lines of two nozzles of 45 degree elbow intersect into an acute angle, while 90 degree elbow knows that the extension lines of two nozzles are vertical. A blunt angle is formed after connecting pipes on both sides of a 45 degree elbow, while a right angle is formed after connecting pipes on both sides of a 90 degree elbow. It is not allowed to weld two 45 degree elbows into 90 degree elbows for use. Elbows are the concentration area of stress on pipes, and most of the stress of expansion and cooling deformation are released at elbows. Weld itself is a weak link, fatigue deformation will cause cracking damage.

4, Nondestructive testing of elbow: commonly used magnetic particle, ultrasonic, penetration and radiographic testing methods to detect surface defects.
5, End machining: machining groove of mechanical end face according to design confirmation drawing.
6, Appearance inspection: the elbow shall be free of cracks and other phenomena, and the surface shall be free of hard spots.
7, The inner and outer surfaces of elbows shall be smooth without damage to strength and appearance defects. No welding repair is allowed for any defect on the elbow body.
8, Dimension inspection: calibre measurement; center height measurement; wall thickness measurement; roundness measurement; hardness measurement; groove measurement; horizontal deviation measurement; oblique deviation measurement.
9, Pickling, passivation and marking.
1, Socket elbow is divided into 45 ° socket elbow and 90 ° socket elbow according to the form.
2, According to the common standards, the specifications of socket elbow are dn6, DN8, dn10, DN15, DN20, DN25, DN32, Dn40, DN50, DN65, DN80 and DN100.
3, The commonly used order specification is dn15-dn50. It is divided into 3000lb, 6000lb, 9000lb or sch80, sch160 and XXS according to the pressure level.
